貝尼多姆 指南
Few places on the Mediterranean coast provoke as strong a reaction as Benidorm. The skyline alone sets it apart: a cluster of high-rise towers rising from a narrow strip of land between two sweeping bays, the Playa de Levante to the east and the Playa de Poniente to the west, giving the city a silhouette that belongs more to Miami or Benidorm's own peculiar imagination than to the surrounding orange-grove country of the Valencian Community. That contrast, between the ancient agricultural landscape of the Marina Baixa comarca and this improbable resort city, is part of what makes Benidorm genuinely interesting rather than merely famous.
The city's transformation from a small fishing settlement into one of Europe's most visited resort destinations happened with unusual speed across the second half of the twentieth century. A 1956 municipal ordinance permitting high-density construction along the seafront set the architectural logic in motion, and the results are now inseparable from Benidorm's identity. The old town, the Casco Antiguo, sits on a rocky promontory between the two beaches and retains a different pace entirely, with narrow lanes, a blue-domed church dedicated to the Virgen del Sufragio, and a mirador that looks out across both bays simultaneously. It is a useful reminder that the city existed before the towers arrived.
