About Uffizi Gallery: Reserved Entry + Audio Guide
The Uffizi Gallery is one of the oldest and most significant art museums in Europe, housed in a Renaissance palazzo in central Florence. Giorgio Vasari designed the building in 1560 as administrative offices for Cosimo I de' Medici, and the Medici family gradually converted it into a repository for their art collection. It opened to the public in 1769, making it among the earliest public museums in the world. The gallery spans 45 rooms across two floors and holds works dating from the medieval period through the 18th century.
The collection is anchored by an exceptional concentration of Italian Renaissance painting. Sandro Botticelli's The Birth of Venus and Primavera are displayed together in Room 10 to 14, while the museum also holds Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation, Michelangelo's Doni Tondo, and Raphael's Portrait of Leo X. Caravaggio's Medusa and his Sacrifice of Isaac represent the Baroque holdings.
What to expect
Reserved entry tickets allow you to bypass the standard queue at Piazzale degli Uffizi 6, giving you direct access to the galleries without a long wait. Once inside, you move through the collection at your own pace. The included audio guide provides commentary on the key works and rooms, covering context on individual paintings, the Medici patronage, and the building's architectural history. The ornately decorated corridors, including the first-floor loggia with its views over the Arno, are part of the visit. Tickets cover reserved entry and the audio guide; a live guide, transport, and food are not included.
