Sobre aquest lloc

Cité de l'Économie, known informally as Citéco, is Paris's museum dedicated entirely to economics and the workings of money. Housed in the former Hôtel Gaillard, a grand neo-Renaissance mansion built in the late nineteenth century in the 17th arrondissement, the building was originally constructed for banker Émile Gaillard and later served as a branch of the Banque de France. Its ornate stone façades, sculpted interiors, and monumental staircase make the architecture itself a significant part of the visit.

The museum transforms complex economic concepts into accessible, interactive experiences, exploring themes such as how money is created, how markets function, and how financial crises unfold. Visitors can move through permanent galleries that address everything from the history of currency to the mechanics of global trade. An entry ticket grants access to the full permanent collection, set within one of the more architecturally distinguished museum buildings in the French capital.
